The New Moon

The New Moon is a time for leaving behind the old and starting with new intentions and manifestations.

A Time Of Sowing

But beware that the lunar energy is at its lowest point so it is also a time to relax and to support yourself. You’d be wise to do so with herbs that nourish you, preparing for the Waxing Moon that is coming.

Smudge Sage

A great way to prepare for a new start is smudging Sage, the smoke can cleanse the energies with your intent to ignite the manifestation.

More herbs that support the New Moon energies are:

Ginger: promotes the movement of blood and life force and therefore puts you into action, best for the New Moon.
Nettle with its plentiful minerals and vitamins is a great herb to nourish your body.
Milky Oats: help soothe your nerves, calming your systems from inflammation caused by heat. 🔥
Reishi is a powerful adaptogen, so you can be calm in any type of stress.

Adaptogens modulate cortisol levels. Cortisol is the hormone that regulates stress response, increasing resilience and tolerance to stress.

Ashwagandha: another powerful herb that relaxes the nervous system with Adaptogens.

The Waxing Moon 🌔

The Waxing Moon is a time for expansion and gratitude.

A Waxing Moon is the time to push yourself towards the goals that you started during the New Moon.

Waxing Moon Beneficial Herbs

Nettle with its densely packed nutrients to sustain the body.
Gotu Kola: strengthens the mind, helps general brain functions, improves memory..
Peppermint with its uplifting and stimulating properties, that also help soothe the digestion.

The Full Moon 🌕

The Full Moon creates an abundance of energy, including lunar energy.

It is a time for growth, action and also release.

These heightened energies can be so intense that you might need to let them free through dance, physical activities or journaling.

Calming Herbs

These herbs can help during this ecstatic time:

Spearmint aids you with this energy boost and helps aid finding clarity in the overwhelming energy.
Lemon Balm puts you in a good mood and can help you ground during times of elevated energy.
Mugwort enhances your dreams and helps you remember your dreams more clearly.

The Waning Moon 🌖

The Waning Moon is a time when the energetic influence of the Moon is decreasing.

Herbs For Reflection

The following herbs aid you to become slower again and to rest and reflect:

Elderberry helps you discover and reveal to you exactly what it is you need clarity on, and it is a great immune system booster.
Hawthorn strengthens the heart and kidneys.
Rose helps a heavy heart. Rose soothes the body and mind.

Rose can be used as Rose Water, Rose Oil, even eating Rose petals is beneficial.

I find that wearing rose oil like perfume can be very powerful for redirecting my attention back to my intuition.

How I Use Rose🌹

I apply Rose Oil to pressure points, I add a little to my hair lengths , & I mix a drop of Rose oil into unscented body lotion, this creates sensorial longevity so I can harness its aromatheraputic benefits for a long as possibl.

Every summer I make a Rose Water Spritz, mixing rose petals and oil in spray bottle with purified water. Rose Spray is the perfect cool down for all day (& night 🌃) mist.

Embrace Eating Roots

The time of decreasing energy is also the time to look for and consume roots, such as:

Dandelion Root:

Dandelion root supports liver health, aids in the detoxification process, and aids in removing toxins from the body. Improves digestion and facilitates the breakdown of food.

The Anti-inflammatory Properties of Dandelion are through natural compounds that can reduce inflammation and swelling.

Dandelion also supports heart health. The root has a natural diuretic effect, which helps lower blood pressure and maintain a healthy heart.

Burdock Root

Burdock root is a vegetable that has many health benefits, such as improving skin health, supporting liver function, lowering blood sugar levels, inhibiting cancer cells, and enhancing sexual function.

It can be consumed as a tea, powder, extract, or fresh vegetable.
